Landlocked amongst Israel and Jordan, the salt lake known as the Dead Sea is renowned for being the most minimal waterway on the surface of Earth; it keeps on pulling in travelers from around the globe.
Since the 1960s, when Israel and Jordan started occupying a great part of the Jordan River's stream and expanding the business utilization of the lake, the water levels have been relentlessly dropping.
By the mid-2010s the lake level had dropped 30 meters beneath its mid-twentieth century level, and it keeps on dropping by about a meter every year.
