A Grand Deaf Day Out at London's City Lit

in deaf •  7 years ago

There was a strong Deaf showing recently at the 22nd annual Deaf Day at City Lit, an adult education college in central London with a long history of supporting Deaf students.

When not catching up with friends and contacts or forging new connections, attendees could chat to some three dozen exhibitors spread over seven rooms across two floors. A huge variety of organisations was at the event, including a number of Deaf schools, as well as colleges and universities. Big businesses and the emergency services were also represented.

Throughout the day, there were taster sessions for a variety of the college’s courses, including lipreading, BSL and deaf history.

All in all, a great chance for the Deaf community to come together - thanks, City Lit for organising!
