The first part of this series was a real success. Plenty of good arguments from different people with different opinions. Awesome. So here is argument number two.
The world is full of crazy arguments. For every belief you hold, there is someone out there who passionately argues for the exact opposite. Yet few arguments are logically consistent and hard to refute. That's why I want to invite you to argue against me.
Every couple of days I'll post a statement that I want you to argue against in the comment section. Depending on the amount of engagement I'll give away parts of the post payout for the best arguments. I am looking for logic, eloquence, originality etc... So let's start.
#2 Universal Basic Income
With every aspect of our lives becoming more and more automated, there is only one solution to distribute excess productivity to those whose jobs will be eliminated by robots and AI. A universal basic income should be paid unconditionally to everybody to cover expenses for basic needs. This would also mean true freedom for anyone. Multiple trials in different countries show the potential of this idea.
Can you make a good argument against this claim?
If you give it unconditionally I see a lot of potential for misuse. You make it really easy for scammers if you simply need an ID and a bank account to receive basic income. So the savings in bureaucracy are probably eaten by higher spending for justice system. The taxes need to be higher than necessary as well, because some people receive two times or three times or four times the basic income.

They also voted overwhelmingly against giving women the right to vote before 12 years later deciding that's a good idea after all. Expect the same with UBI. They will vote on it again. I guarantee it.

If the robots and AI see that the humans have a basic income and do not work anymore they will also lay the work down and in we are all doomed!
