Effective Debating does not involve using Known Logical Fallacies
Adding Personal Attacks and Insults Loses You the Argument.
I have noticed that a growing trend of ad hominem debate tactics have taken over the television, youtube channels especially in the comment sections, and now I am seeing it on steemit. So I am posting this to steemit, so everyone can use this link and send it to people guilty of this tactic on here. How to spot ad hominem: when disagreeing with you, they often will start their comment off by attacking you personally instead of the argument. This is an "ad hominem" logical fallacy, and honestly the most often used logical fallacy on the internet right now. Good solid arguments often get completely ignored because the argument is also filled with ad hominem attacks, such as starting the argument off with "you are an idiot", or "if you did any research", both of which imply the source of the information is bad, but neither address this information itself. People need to learn how to address an argument without attacking the irrelevant source of the information. Information and truth stand alone, the source only matters if it is a non factually based argument. This is why most honest people dislike both candidates for US President right now, as their typical mode of debate is ad hominem personal attacks, rather than debating policy. The truth is the truth, attacking the person saying it doesn't make your argument.
The Other logical Fallacies are Common Place as well.
All of these logical fallacies are found often in any modern debates. In fact they are also found just as often in the "truther" community as often as with the "mainstream sheeple". Any analysis of a debate over the Flat Earth nonsense generally devolves into ad hominem, and burden of proof debate tactics, both of which are logical fallacies. Same with almost any issue that people feel passionate about. People will leave long scathing comments or arguments, almost always riddled with these blatant logical fallacies. Which ends up with the same result, I stopped reading it and forgot about it, deal with it. If you want to actually have a debate over topics and truth, learn to take information in, and transcend the information rather than attacking the source.

Did you source the image by giving image credit? If you properly source the images it shouldn't get flagged.
I don't understand what this comment means.

The post fell under fair use law as it was an educational post so none of that stuff matters. besides giving image credit and a source does not protect you from the fact that you are making a copy right infringement. you need written concent from the original creator to use any of it if it does not fall under fair use.
The comment about the fallacy game is just me joking around. myself anda couple other people were making a bunch of posts about fallacys a bit ago and then all of a sudden after they were getting noticed our posts started getting flagged and the people flagging them started making posts about fallacys. they were pure copy pasta that the whales were posting, but because they left source and links the whales said it is ok for them to copy pasta.
Just be careful, if the whales see you making money off posts they will find a reason to flagg you even if their "reasons" are invalid and not following the laws. they will turn it around to be harassment or abuse or spam or any other false claim they make up to feel justified in doing the same thing they are flagging people for.
Sorry about the rant, keep up the good work of trying to open the eyes of the ignorant that have to resort to fallacies because they have no way to attack the acual argument.

Okay, yeah I hear you. Thanks for elaborating, I know get your point. Yeah I agree, I wrote a post about the need for a down button, because the flag should be resorted for serious issues like spam, plagiarism, and violations of the terms of use. I think the flag is used too often when it doesn't deserve to be. For instance I commented on a feminist's post that to me wreaked of lies and exaggeration, and when I called her out my rep went from a 60 to a 40 something and I have been crawling back since, now at a 57. So I hear ya, my earlier post on this: https://steemit.com/steemit/@titusfrost/false-flagging-need-a-down-vote-button-stop-censorship

No, it was some girl who claimed her IT department in Sweden was completely male dominated and she blamed all her lack of success on men being sexist. She made outrageous claims something like, "the guys would all joke oh send Susan (her) to close the deal in a miniskirt" (keep in mind, imo this girl is not attractive at all) in the office and other things like that. As if any HR department in the modern world would allow that type of behavior in the corporate world; anywhere I have been everyone is super pc. So I called her out and of course a whole bunch of morons including "@Anonymous" flagged me. Funny the person who runs the "Anonymous" account flagging and censoring. Total bs, so I am staying away from them until I build up enough steem or enough followers to be able to fight back against their censorship tactics for dissenting opinion.

Oh, shit I remember reading that post, it was like one of her first couple posts. lol
Shits fucked up.
I don't even think the flagging system is trying to get fixed. either , they like it.
