The debt ceiling problem pops up and every headline in the news preaches fearmongering of a stock market collapse.
Miraculously at the last minute bipartisanship “saves the day” and the debt ceiling is increased and another close call is supposedly avoided.
Talk about bread and circus. This whole show is more bread and circus than any sporting event or movie. It’s bread and circus for all the politicos. They are being fooled into thinking the only way to save America is through raising the debt ceiling.
People who actually think the US will default on its debt any time soon have been conditioned into that fear.
Don’t fall for the fear. The debt is horrible and I’m against it, but this idea that the market will crash this year due to a debt default is truly bread and circus to unite people into bipartisanship “wins”. Ironically the result appears to be a win for everyone, but really the taxpayers and future generations lose, all while the politicians act like they saved the day.
We aren’t going to see the dollar collapse anytime soon. Stocks will be way higher in 20 years than today from real productivity increases. The politicians aren’t saving us from anything. It’s all a bread and circus show to make you think that raising the debt is the only way to avoid a collapse. That raising the debt is moral and ethical, a necessary evil.
This whole thing is a joke to someone like me who has gone through this for decades.
