The era of the blockchain is a pretty unique one, and everyone who has at least given a bit of time to get to understand what this technology represents would realize that the blockchain will go mainstream in the coming years. Get super excited if you will. But what is the blockchain? and why are we excited about it?
To me, i would say the blockchain is a means to redistribute power, basic rights, transparency, and fairness to every human. With the blockchain it's not just the technology about it that excites me, it comes with the ability for humans to infuse our philosophy into these technologies that power our day to day activities, hence, making life easier and more convenient for humans. It's about the libertarian values that it heralds that makes this era such an exciting time to be alive.
The blockchain represents a solved need, it fills a void we've perhaps been oblivious to for so long. Every internet user values his online presence to a certain degree, and since the internet opens the world up a bit more to everyone and gives access to just about any information we want in any art of the world, it has become a great part of our everyday lives, and has become so influential to how we react to things, what we believe and how we feel about this information we process.
The problems
The internet as we know it, in all of its glory, is not without problems and shortcomings. Perhaps a more heinous and far-outreaching problem is the issue of content and data ownership and non-neutrality. I mean, the internet is made up of people interacting on various levels and platforms, with just about 2% of the total users as content providers and the remaining 98% of the total users are consumers of information, silently surfing the web pages for the information they need without getting too engaged with the discussions. Who controls the internet? Who decides how users' data is handled? The individuals themselves? or third party data giants and middlemen companies?
Truth be told, a huge amount of data and information available to us today in the internet is being controlled by a closed group of people with deep pockets. Think about it for a second, if the internet is so influential to how we perceive things around us, and we've got just a few data giants overseen by a few rich guys with shiny white teeth, it means even more control and power in the hands of the minority. They collect your data, trade these data for profits without giving you a slice of the pie. Every day, we see the manipulation of prices, censorship of content, breaches in the privacy policy, and the misinterpretation of information on the media. If they want, they could have you feeding out of their palms -if they haven't already.- With cookie-enabled websites, third party internet cooperations track your online behaviours (and if anything, sometimes the online behaviour might be the exact replica of who we really are, or even better. For they say we truly are what we do when no one is looking). You'd be shocked to know just how much they know about you, and how much you're selling for on the data market.
Hence, why the blockchain is important. But have we gotten there yet?
Far from it!
Sure, the crypto-sphere is still in its early stages, and there are tons of other cryptocurrency projects out there hoping to solve some common tasks. But, I really don't think a lot of these projects get it yet. For every new technology to replace a currently active one, it needs more than the promise of making things better or turning users into owners of new Lamborghini cars. It has to prove beyond reasonable doubts that it far surpasses the current system at play before the demand starts flooding in. We have come a long way, but I think it's probably high time we start thinking less about faster transaction times and lower transaction fees and start developing technologies on the blockchain that provides real value even to the common man out there who has little idea about what 'blockchain' is all about. Truth be told, no one really cares about the tech behind the product! If it works, and solves my problems, i wouldn't bat an eyelid at getting one for myself. Just about everyone owns a mobile device these days. But the amount of people who know just how we are able to make calls to loved ones far and wide with such a small device is negligible. Yet, these devices are indispensable and in high demand. Can the blockchain achieve that feat?
Enters Decenternet!
With decenternet, we are opened up to the possibility of a more libertarian internet where everyone is free to do as he pleases with his data. In the words of its founder and CEO Sean Kim, Decenternet is an organic, global, transparent an immunologic ecosystem that allows for an all-inclusive libertarian society run by the blockchain.
Sounds like a lot to take in. But to put it in blockchain-simple terms, it is an ultra-fast peer to peer distributed internet platform that focuses on the true values and philosophies that decentralization truly hopes to achieve. Libertarianism, scalability and proliferation. Libertarianism and proliferation, because now you are free. No single person controls a large chunk of data like the centralized world we live in, the internet works for you, and every user can claim rights over their public data and chose to trade that data for useful currency. There will be Multiple-sourced data and content from diverse parts of the world without censorship and subjections to the interests of a few, or the interference of the human greed. Scalability because with the technology and power this thing packs, the whole world can be carried along and things would go on pretty smoothly.
With decenternet, we aren't just talking about a blockchain, or a token to serve as a legal tender. No. We are talking about proof of reliability. we are looking at real-life changes through grassroots acceptance and usage manifestation. Tell me about respect for privacy rights, tell me about the blockchain playing an all-important role in education, in political elections in finance, in tourism and economics, etc! Discuss solutions.
Okay, great talk so far. How does decenternet hope to achieve all of that?
It's simple, with an array of infrastructure already in place to drive a decentralized ecosystem, especially a self-sustaining and decentralized mining protocol to aid proliferation and incentivisation, Decenternet can do more than deliver.
First of all, the whole decenternet ecosystem is embedded in a linux-based native operating system which is powered by the blockchain. It goes by the name Anuvys, an unlike your regular privately-owned operating systems, Osiris is open-sourced with the same level of information available to everyone, it is stable without silly bugs, superfast, incentivized for end users and contributors, and has zero interference with user privacy! For once, you need not worry about your personal stuff showing up on social media someday. There is also a mobile-based OS called Hermes which basically carries out the same function. You're Safe and sound.
Secondly, they have got a decentralized browser in place called Osiris, which features a totally ad-free, super-fast user experience that does not keep tabs on your behaviour online.
The browser is powered by the rich and stable Liberty search engine which presents the data and information you need in a very logical manner. On this search engine, front-page content visibility is based on the public demand and usage, rather than deep pockets, preferential human relationships, and ad banners.
A video-sharing platform called blocktube which takes it a step further by removing the restraints, controls and censorship placed by modern video-sharing platforms. You will get exactly what your work deserves, without a cooperation keeping a part of your money.
Decenternet has a unique method of value creation through mining. By renting out your computer's CPU power for mining, you are supporting a humanitarian cause as well as making money for yourself to meet your needs. This mining protocol doesn't use up as much power and resources like currencies such as bitcoin does.
There is also a lot of other end-user attractions and case uses. There is the veritas blockchain identity that serves as a means of identification for every user (again, with the user owning total rights and control over his identification), a decentralized trading platform, a decentralized shop for e-commerce. a Mercury decentralized wallet, and a coineru decentralized card (much like the ATM card you wield in your wallet).
Finally, at the center of incentivisation, we have a solid information-backed currency that keeps every party in the ecosystem satisfied, and keeps the infrastructure running. A means for which value can be derived from the level of work you put in, and the proof of brain. The Spyce. Unlike a lot other blockchains, Decenternet has focused on building a society more than just a blockchain. Spyce won't just end up like a lot of other digital currencies that are not acceptable or useful for solving our most basic daily needs. With widespread acceptance and usability comes the convenience of getting a chilled bottle of water from a local shelf, or a bottle of milk from your favourite dairy shop using the spyce coin.
Decenternet is set to lead the global crypto-trend, and to change the way blockchain technology is viewed and valued, forever! I buy the phylosophy and the technology behind it, and i won't hesitate to sell it any time, any day.
Go Decenternet!

You should also check out maid safe coin and substratum, they are trying to decentralize the internet too, subtratum devs are actually very good and established devs!
Going to do more research about decenternet! And check out the osiris browser, thanks for the info @pangoli!

It's still to early for me as an investor to get in on decenternet, I like medium-low risk investments even in crypto...
Ring me up on discord whenever you want, i'm always glad to talk to other people :)

I have no idea how to understand any of this, so I just leave it to my son to let me know anything I need to know; it's all just too beyond me...

I still don't understand Decenternet but it's concept is cool and catchy. It's now looking too technical for me to decipher on the other hand, I wish to tag along. Go Decenternet 😁

Wow! Decenternet sounds like it would be a serious contender with Google. The privacy and absence of customer/client data mining makes it a very attractive prospect. That one would earn simultaneously is another interesting incentive. Let's see how this goes. Fantastic article @pangoli.
