You must never be limited by external authority, whether it be vested in a church, man or book. It is your right to question, challenge and investigate. - Bhagat Singh Thind
It is furthermore our right to change whatever needs to be changed.
Habits and customs are a human being's best friends, and it's hard to let them go at times. Yet, when those habits get beyond control, they're not valuable to us anymore.
Centralized institutions are such old friends.
They were important to us when we required some guidance in a world that became more and more complex every day. Yet, over time we've learned how to manage our lives in such a complex environment by ourselves.
In fact, we - as autonomous individuals, organized in communities and with full control over our own assets - are doing much better at guiding ourselves through that jungle now than any authority would ever be able to.
Unfortunately, many of today's centralized institutions have simply forgotten about their initial duty.
Banks were supposed to take care of our money, but now they're speculating on it and trying to deny us any access to it. Governments were supposed to take care of our security, but now they're trading it for political power and global dominance.
The great thing about this situation is that we don't have to accept it.
One individual may not be able to make a difference here, but many - teaming up as groups at different places in the world - can definitely intitialize THE CHANGE.
I just want decentralization to win.
That's what @theycallmedan recently stated in one of his videos, and I can only wholeheartedly agree on it.
In the end it doesn't really matter how we get there, but what definitely matters is that we put all our efforts into it.
Here's what personally motivated me to join the movement: About a year ago I bought a property and had to deal with a lot of administrational issues. At some point in time I even thought it wouldn't be possible to close the deal. You wouldn't imagine how complicated it is nowadays to invest money that is effectively YOURS.
You can't even transfer larger amounts of fiat money from one bank account to another, without a bank holding you off. That even applies if you transfer money between two of your own accounts.
Apparently centralized institutions have completely forgotten about their actual duty. They've stopped serving their communities while they only serve themselves.
Under the umbrella of national security, authorities can basically force you to provide them with any information, data or fee they want.
Ironically, the centralized control is a higher threat to our security than anything else in the world.
Yes, our belief system is about to be turned upside down. We can't trust them anymore.
There is only one answer to the current situation: it has to end.
Decentralization won't be installed over night.
It's going to start with groups of people teaming up at different places in the world, all aiming to organize themselves in a different way, in a decentralized and autonomous way.
In fact, it's already taking place.
One of the most important things I teach people is that we lived through a time where you could get away with a lot of bad behavior, but we're about to leave that time, which means: never ever compromise your integrity, it's the only thing you have. - @brockpierce being interviewed by Dallas Rushing in Puerto Rico
I'm absolutely convinced that most people in the world are really craving for such a world where people will again be held accountable for their doings.
It's a world where can finally TRUST each other again, because it's going to be OUR world.
We, as creators, stakeholders, investors and developers on Steem are such a decentralized group that has made a first step towards that New World Order. We all can effectively become role models in that context.
Have faith, use your voices and make a change.
We are content creators on a decentralized blockchain for a reason.
And that reason is far beyond being paid in crypto.
The future is decentralized - thanks for being part of it!
Much love,
Marley -

Love this post! Yes, blockchain and decentralization are incredible things. We're very glad our CEO has this same sentiment! Good luck on your push towards a decentralized future :) and yes, there is strength in numbers!

Thanks a lot for your encouragement @servetoken!
I fully agree with Shahan Ohanessian here (and thanks for providing me with the link to the interview). Blockchain technology can indeed solve many problems, and that's usually what business is all about: creating solutions to real problems. I'm pretty convinced that the key to success for blockchain technology lies exactly there: in identifying problems other technologies haven't been able to solve yet, and then offer solutions to solve them.

🖕Yes! And we will pass this right path to generations to come.
Decentralization doesn’t look down on anyone!
United effort is needed like you rightly said!
Thanks @surfermarly for this wonderful piece!

So true, Max.
I've never been an anarchistic person by myself, being born into and raised in a rather conservative, middle-class environment. But you know: life changes you no matter what.
The things that currently happen on this planet are just not acceptable anymore, and I'm unable to look away.
I'm grateful to have a voice and a little audience, because this is probably the way you can get the ball rolling.
Thanks for being with us on the journey :-)
