Achieving Contentment Without Trying

We all want a quick fix. And when it comes to contentment, we all want to just feel it. I wish I could relate a scientific process guaranteed to give you contentment. I would love to give you a secret formula or equation to provide you a deep feeling of bliss and help you feel content.

Unfortunately, contentment comes from digging deep to find the answer and for most of us, contentment is more of an art than a science. It's kind of like baking a pie. A few can make a great pie crust. And others can make the filling pop. A few have no trouble following the instructions in order to create the desert. But only a few can give that pie an added zing no one else can provide.

Obviously, there's a lot more to it than just following the recipe. A newbie baker will nowhere come close to a pie made by a pastry chef with 10 years of experience. What gives it the zing? Art.

Some of the elements of contentment are as follows:

  • Figure Out What is Truly Important to You
    • Do a Values Audit
  • Dump Negativity
  • Find Simple Solutions
  • Declutter Your Emotions
  • Change Your Views of Work, Family, and Self
  • Focus on What You Can Commit To
  • Remember What Matters
  • Learn Your Bottom Line
