My pair of bedside drawers are finally complete and decoupaged my way.

This is the first proper upcycle project that I decided to give my full effort. :)

I bought 2 of these bedside drawers

Sanded them back a bit, and painted on 3 coats of white wood paint.

Took the very top layer of some dinner napkins

and cut/tore the images I wanted.

Then applied with my homemade "modpodge" glue.
Then once dry I used a gloss water based varnish.

I ordered from Amazon these lovely crystal knobs for the drawers and finally competed the pair today.
I am really happy with the completed finished job.

Hope you like my post here and would like to follow and vote it, I am also working on a little cute dresser too so will post that up once finished.

I chose to do opposite diagonal positioning as will always be a the side of a be. Just a carpet to get now and the room is complete.

Wow, that's really great! How long did the whole process take you?

It's not my style exactly, but I can tell that you put in a lot of effort and care for these bedside drawers! It looks amazing!

Hi only a week as and when i had time after work etc. The knobs too ages to arrive. Hadnt realised they were from china haha.

I like them, went well for a first effort. The one im doing at the moment is by far the best one. Every single bit has gone to plan and better than i thought.

Do you ever buy something a bit past it then funk it up with a makeover? Thanks for lovely message. X

This is excellent! I see a lot of "shabby chic" style drawers, where a reseller has bought old draws, painted them and then part sanded back to give a distressed look - then they are usually sold at a silly markup - I just sigh and laugh to myself..If someone is willing to pay then fair enough.

This project however is what upcycling is really about, the effect you have created is amazing, and whilst far to feminine for my tastes I really appreciate these. Really good job:)
