Voting with the New Decred Proposal System - How to cast your vote!

As a long time follower of the Decred project and a recent investor I was excited to see the launch of Politeia (pol·​i·​teia). Today I sat down and cast my votes for the first time and captured the process for anyone who wants to see just exactly how stakeholders are steering the $27 million USD valued Decred Treasury from all around the world.

Step 1 - Open your Decred Wallet:

Step 2 - Click on Governance and allow the current proposals to load:

Step 3 - Click on the proposal you would like to review or vote on (note...it's not obvious they are buttons...but they are)

Step 4 - Review the Proposal then click Vote (or go to https://proposals.decred.org to review all the details and comments directly)

Step 5 - Select the vote you wish to cast and enter your wallet password.

Step 6 - Watch Stakey (the little green ticket person) dance your vote into the world!

Step 7 - Click the "X" in the top right to close that particular proposal and repeat for any other proposals you want to vote on.

Well that is all there is to it. A very easy process and you can see this team worked hard to make it so. If you haven't got your stake of Decred yet it is too late for this first round of votes (you must have purchased your tickets BEFORE the vote starts) but a second round of proposals is already pending activation. In a very real way this is a team that has proven consensus governance for over two and a half years but only just now is launching proposal governance and so it is a great time to get in on a very promising project (at least I hope so, since I just did).
