In the previous 16th Deep Onion airdrop, I had 113 Onions in my wallet and received 8 Onions or 7% of my original holdings. This was my first airdrop because my application was rejected a month ago and I had to wait and be active in the forums first to prove that I support the project and am a productive member of the Deep Onion community. I got rejected because I was in a rush to join the airdrop. I read an article about how to join the Deep Onion airdrop and I followed it to the letter. Unfortunately, there were major mistakes in that article that led me to be rejected. It was a lesson learned, read first the official rules before hitting that apply button.
After I got my 8 Onions in the 16th airdrop, I accepted the fact that there are new rules and gone are the days that a participant can received at least 600 Onions per week. I thought of ways of how to increase my Onions and that will be discussed in a later article. I now got 121 Onions in my pocket but the dream of thousands of Onions is calling to me. The developers mentioned that there will be a second airdrop based on DeepPoints. I wondered to myself, “How much can I get in that second airdrop?”
As many of you can recall, DeepPoints is a new improvement the developers of Deep Onion activated in the forum. By means of just being active in the forum, one can earn DeepPoints that can later be converted to Deep Onion coins. The schedule of the second airdrop was this Sunday. The head moderator of the forum, alias “Deeper,” mentioned that the calculated total DeepPoints was 10.5. The total number of people who had DeepPoints that were eligible to receive the second airdrop was 900+. The total allocated Deep Onion coins for this second airdrop was 25,000. The final figure was 1 DeepPoint is equal to 2437.05 Onions.
As expected, the deeponion forum was buzzing with excitement and anticipation after the announcement that the second airdrop was about to commence. Some quickly checked their status if they were eligible for the second airdrop. The moderators did some checks and removed or penalized those abusing the DeepPoints system. Those mathematically inclined took out their calculators and started computing how much they would get.
I was also excited to see what amount of Onions I would get. Looking at that wallet refresh for any new arriving transactions was like watching paint dry. I was busy writing new articles so I figured I’ll just check tomorrow morning.
After the DeepPoints was calculated and the Onions sent for distribution, all DeepPoints records were reset to zero. For the past week, I just did my normal activity reading, posting and writing articles. Of course, there was a conscious effort in my part to make quality posts to gain more DeepPoints. However, I didn’t overdo it because once you get caught up making DeepPoints, you might not realize that you are already abusing the system and that may result in your account being banned.
I can’t remember my exact DeepPoints but I think it was around 0.065+. From that, I received 161.94 Onions. What a pleasant surprise! I got more Onions from DeepPoints than the 16th airdrop. The developers are still tweaking DeepPoints and I’m sure we will see more improvements soon. It's too early to tell, but from the looks of it, it seem the Deep Onion team has a new successful project.
