ARTICLE – GETTING MILENNIALS INSPIRED BY CRYPTOCURRENCIES:
Quite frankly, cryptocurrencies are revolutionary and if implemented correctly will be able to reshape the world we live in today. The way in which money is dealt with today is extremely inefficient and slow to process, in some cases a transfer of assets to another person can take up to a week. That said, it is not only the rate at which someone can transfer money to another person but as we see with DeepOnion, their anonymity. Cryptocurrencies clearly have so much to offer and the idea of decentralisation is so incredibly important as we live under the veil of a truly corrupt world.
With this said, whatever preconceptions you have about millennials and the future generations this article will attempt to briefly cover the importance of them within the world of cryptocurrencies as a whole and the importance of their adoption of cryptocurrencies. Naturally, millennials have a completely different wiring and with their introduction to their world being so strongly influenced by rapidly changing waves of technologies their freedom to adoption of cryptocurrencies will be so much higher. Much higher than that of those of their parents who may act extremely apprehensive. While it is futile to argue that of the importance of fiat and central banks, we should still value the advantages the cryptospace has to offer.
While parents may still ring up a Chinese to order some food to the house or book a holiday at the local travel agents millennials are ordering these things with the tapping of a few buttons. The same should be able to be said for cryptocurrency. They will see the value in these “upgrades” if you please and open their arms to blockchain technology. Their adoption will potentially see a multiplier effect in the mass adoption of the world as more people become aware that their children are using these methods to purchase things.
If marketed correctly, younger generations will run towards this space with flailing arms, however, I do believe this may take some time still. The reason for this being that, much like the stock market, cryptocurrencies seem to be very daunting still for newcomers. There are so many on offer and while many people if asked to know what Bitcoin is, they would struggle very much to name another. Everyday, something more can be learnt with ease about the cryptospace. For these reasons it will be some time while more likely for even millennials to fully adopt them. This process, however, I do believe this process could be sped up.
Finally, in a world where we are seeing growing monitorisation, anonymity of purchases and payments is of growing importance. People are nowhere as near as free as they are brainwashed to believe. The idea that people can at least gain some level of anonymity while online is huge. DeepOnion is a project that many believe will be able to offer this. The project is brilliant and while it’s not my wish to advertise this I think a coin such as itself is of huge importance both to millennials and the world.
