The Exoneratist does not view the federal government as a protectorate. Americans want to blend into their society and with their government. But the present modus operandi seems to be to squelch any opposition.
If the Government and its citizens do not attempt to correct unfair laws and economic dangers as they exist, then unqualified tolerance of these defects is created. It is not wrong to oppose any problem in society, be it governmental or societal. It is wrong to not stand and press for change if change is necessarily evident for the good of the society.
The Exoneratist is very concerned with the spread and influence of socialism in our capitalistic society, but views it as a balance mechanism, if held in check. The welfare system began as a solution to the depression, but it turned into a utopian aim of correcting the defects in the nature of man/woman. And due to the complexity of human nature, no utopian concept is attainable.
The world did observe the end of the United Soviet Socialist Republic in the last century. It would be comforting to assess the demise as due to the failure of such an extremely subsversive socialistic economic theory as communism/socialism. But in reality, human affairs are so extremely complicated that the cause of the failure of communism cannot be stated easily or even accurately. Of course, economics must have played a deciding role, and certainly the first request from the new regime was for economic aid. The subversive nature of communism, even now, seems not on the wane as Moscow assaults their friends and neighbors.
However, one lesson has been learned from the rise and fall of the USSR. The enlargement of the government in order to liberate the poor from the oppressive burdens of poverty can simply equalize the entire nation under poverty while the government alone prospers.
Egotistical socialistic/communistic leaders attempted to mesmerize the unfortunate proletariat into thinking they were equal (albeit equally poor), while the ever-optimistic American hopes to equalize not individual stature but the opportunity for individual complacency in order to attain realistic balanced freedoms.
The distinct part capitalism (tinged with socialism) plays in the philosophy of Exoneratism will be discussed through juxtaposing our capitalistic democracy with some of the socialistic democracies that exist in our century. And that will be next.
The enlargement of the government in order to liberate the poor from the oppressive burdens of poverty can simply equalize the entire nation under poverty while the government alone prospers.
That's a good point. And I'd take it a step further. When we say big government or enlarging government, all we're saying is - infusing government with more money. The term "big government" should probably be replaced with "monied government" so people don't forget what's making it big.
