Steem Delegation and Why It's Important

It's another sunny day in Cleveland, Ohio and I'm out walking the trail while breathing in the fresh air.

Let's talk about Steem! Are you familiar with delegation? Delegation requires the use of Steem Power. Steem Power are influence tokens which give you more control over post payouts and allow you to earn on curation rewards.

Delegation means that you are letting another account borrow your Steem Power in order to fund their project, idea, or goal of some sort.

Why would you want to delegate your well-earned Steem Power to another account?

One reason is because you believe in the cause or the project in which you are delegating to and you want to support them. The other reason is to earn daily or weekly payouts direct to your wallet in the form of Steem or SBD.

For example, I currently delegate to a few accounts, one of them being @steemcreators. I give to this cause in order to support fellow Steemians in their journey to become amazing content creators.

I earn daily payouts from this account, as well as support an amazing cause at the same time.

In recent news, @DTube has opened their doors to additional delegators. I am excited about this because by the time you view this video or read this blog, I will have already delegated a portion of my Steem Power to their account.

I love what DTube is doing and I fully back their project. A great way to show support is to delegate. Your delegation will contribute to the overall success of the project, which in turn will also benefit you. It's a win win!

If you don't know how to delegate, simply visit Steem Bot Tracker, click on Tools at the top, then go to Delegation Manager. From there, you can enter your username, the accounts username that you'd like to delegate to, and then the amount of Steem Power you would like to delegate.

You will be asked to provide your SteemConnect credentials which include your username and active key. After that, you will have successfully delegated to another account. You can then see your delegation inside of that Delegation Manager, or on SteemWorld.org which is my favorite place to view my account statistics.

Hope that this video gave you some value. If it did, UPVOTE and comment below to continue the discussion.

Thanks for dropping by and I will see you in the next vlog! As always remember...YOU ARE AWESOME.

I recently delegated to dtube and steemcreators thanks to your video :)

peace, tibbi

Wow @tibfox! What an incredible compliment. Glad you liked it and took action right away :)

Delegating is really good way to support interesting initiatives/projects.It's important to stay humble and "share" your power by upvoting good quality content or delegating SP even just for sake of support.I would love to see more people thinking like you where delegating to support good project is win/win situation. But sadly a lot of(if not most)the whales care just about themselves and only thing they do is upvote their own content.Im FAR from saying that they can not do that because that's their money. All Im trying to say is I really appreciate people thinking like you because at the end of the day thats us who try our best to help community and make Steemit grow.Have a great day🤗

Right on @foremostwiseguy! Appreciate your feedback on this topic. Delegation is one of the many unique attributes of the Steem blockchain.

I honestly agree with y' because most of this project re very supportive to the steemit community. People can't singlehandedly do what most of this projects does, so, it does make a good sense delegating to such accounts which in turn would still payback the owners of the steem. Its a win, win deal, just as y' said. People should just key into key and also contribute to the growth of steem/it

Absolutely @peterecheng. What projects / accounts do you currently support?

Well, am just a member of some communities...not supporting any yet because i don't have enough Steem to do so. Just grooming my account and below 2Steem/below 20Sp...lol. Very small, y' know..

Is it a patronage model, where you award some of your SP to another channel on a regular basis? I guess like Patreon but for STEEM? If so, I wish they would build such a thing directly into steemit.com

@mxpuck I am not familiar with Patreon. But you can delegate to another account as much as you want and as often as you want. The more you delegate, the better payout you will recieve.

Can Minnows like me delegate?

Yes you can @doktarufas. Just do not delegate ALL of your Steem Power as you will then not have enough bandwidth to support any activity on the blockchain.

I'm new on steemit and i'm begining to understand some things.. this one is new for me and it seems to be one of the most important thing here in steemit..

@mis.bicicronicas Welcome to Steem! Delegation is indeed very important. Support a good cause and earn payouts at the same time!
