A flight from Atlanta to Barcelona, Spain, was forced to turn back and make an emergency landing on the 1st because a passenger on board had "diarrhea along the way."
After the flight returned to Atlanta, it was thoroughly cleaned. The passengers and crew departed again on the same plane, and finally arrived in Barcelona at 5:10 pm the next day, eight hours later than scheduled.
The identity of the passenger with diarrhea is unknown and it is not known whether he was also on the flight to Spain.
Delta Air Lines confirmed to Business Insider that the plane suffered a "medical issue" and had to return to Atlanta for cleaning, but did not specify details.
