It is another yearly anniversary of democracy day in Nigeria. It is both a time of celebration and of reflection. 1999 to 2019 marks 20 years of democratic governance in which we have had divers kinds of democratic leaders. We are not where we are supposed to be, but we definitely have greatly advanced from where we used to be under military rule.

Our hopes and prayers for the country Nigeria is that we keep growing stronger and better, growth economically, intellectually, technologically and so on. For a better Nigeria, we must subdue greed, which births corruption. We must always stand for what is right, and for justice, whatever it costs us.

I hereby reaffirm my pledge to the country Nigeria...


I pledge to Nigeria my country
To be faithful, loyal and honest
To serve Nigeria with all my strength
To defend her unity
And upload her honour and glory
So help me God. (Amen)
