Tumbled Optimism and Foreign Atmosphere

All (de/rejects, endless wonderers, random interest-focused, and average proletariat)-

I am very new on this site. I care very little about the crypto associated, and I am, frankly, not sure this site is what I was told it was by many advocates. I’ve browsed through the international blogs and sorted through the filter options available. I’ve not come up with anything worthwhile (I’m sure it’s out there - I’m just new to the site).

I’m gonna do something I normally don’t do: tip my opinionated toe out before reading the room. Call it a curse, but it won’t be my first time doing so. I’m hoping for interesting innovation and conversation. If you must be the bitter, instathreat, knee jerk reactive, troll corner of the internet, feel free to shower me with the shit that blankets most of social media.

As an American, and party agnostic, I have hit the first time in life where I feel it’s worse than I’ve experienced. Don’t get me wrong: as a low income child, I grew up poor and have worked myself (barely) out of poverty. I have, by all observations and measures, a markedly improved life. I have more options, more wisdom, and more resources.

That said, the surrounding institutions have crumbled and collapsed. Now, I’ve never really cared for politics and history (I know, I know… ) but it seems intuitionally grim. COVID, heat waves, climate deviations, wars, shootings, inflation, recession, division, revision, and an escalating grand international relations situation have made each day a fucking Maury Povich episode and a reason to flinch when you wake tomorrow. While we’ve all rolled our eyes at both the day shows and political overacting, these daily bullets of mental erosion hit you no matter how much you’ve read your daily astronomy, chanted your daily prayers, or meditated under your most informed yogi and blessed belongings.

No, I’m talking about the dread that follows you when you are drinking a mindless cheap well at the bar in attempts to manage your budget and mental health while hearing two of your friends/associates/colleagues throw audible punches at each other from across party lines - firing far beyond each other’s recent headlines , yet with no real idea of what compromise combined with mutual goals and success look likes. The recycled scrapings from their chosen twitter follows and curated news sites powerfully enabling each side while also deterring any sort of neighborly camaraderie or humanship of logic. The world comms pushing the “us vs them” narrative and everyone seemingly ready and willing to hate-fuck each other through any non-consensual means. Why?

In the US, in one state you can get your ailments treated with marijuana, get a son born who will be automatically/systemically circumcised, protest and yell primal/outdated slurs at women crying in line for abortion, get an opiate addiction, sign up for the military, and ignore a person who was like you but ended up inheriting a lack of home instead of the $5k equivalent of your fathers belongings that his mail order wife sold while she knew of terminal illness without telling you. (Only me? Ok, I’m starting to read the room…) The crazy thing is, on the opposite spectrum (not even always opposite geographically) you can get the other side of each arguments equally bumbling about another interpretation of made up events. Then there is all the in between. THIS SHIT IS INSANE.

We are literally backing away from basic rights, mutually agreed pillars of quality of life, trusted society, and unadulterated and unrestricted access to information for the innovation of a united mankind, only to fight those in family and community for things that are only situationally different. Suggestion? For every abortion, give a southern white guy a revolver and then put them both on the watch list. The abortionist gets a nun-intervention for a month and attends MAGA events while the white guy must sit through BLM protests and live vegan for a month.

All this is just to say, why are we blowing hate emotives past each other with such a commitment of thoughts that are, at worst, only hypothetical (what if I want 7 guns? What if I want 7 abortions?). All the while, we know the government will ultimately track everything in concert with the big tech companies they are publicly reprimanding. Don’t we all agree we should have meds, eat, have shelter, jobs, and just generally have our 5-9 on weekdays and 9-12 on weekends left to ourselves to waste our own lives? We can’t even buy Boar’s Head right now. Not. Even. Boar’s. Head…

I’ll now give my disclaimer that I am not an influencer, genius, or whatever Mecca type archetypes succeed and exist online. Im lazy, tired, and depressed… just like you. But, fuck man, I don’t care enough about fringe benefits in either side to warrant giving up 10% inflation, international nuclear threats, and/or shitty behavior based on when I think sperm is aware or what round/clip is allowed. I’m solely here for the Boar’s Head sandwich and intellectual chat.
