Mount Denali, formerly known as Mount McKinley, is the highest peak in North America, standing at an impressive 20,310 feet (6,190 meters) above sea level. It is located in south-central Alaska within Denali National Park and Preserve, a vast wilderness area spanning over six million acres.

In 2015, the U.S. government officially restored the mountain's original name, Denali, after it was called Mount McKinley for over a century.
Climbing and Exploration
Climbing Denali is a formidable challenge that requires technical expertise, endurance, and preparation for extreme conditions. The West Buttress route is the most popular path, but it still demands significant skill and determination. Climbers face crevasses, avalanches, and severe weather while attempting the summit.
The first successful ascent was made in 1913 by a team led by Hudson Stuck and Harry Karstens. Today, thousands of climbers attempt the peak annually, though only about half successfully reach the summit.
