Tales of the Teeth

A bright sunny day. Spectacular skies, warm air, and clean; pollen free atmospheres.

It is a beautiful day to be outside. I did just that. I had to go off to the land of dental torture. The description of my suffering? Words I can't udnerstand, repeated below for hisorical purposes.

Active Non SurgicalPeriodontal Therapy Per Quandrant (x2).

A few Xannax. A few injections of some sort of local anaeshetsia.

A whole lot of me squiming and wincing as all of these was being completed.

The right side of my mouth remains numb (and should for some time) - its an interesting sensation for someone who has not experienced this sensation before.

The injection, what I had feared the most, hurt the least. The pressure of my gums being pulled this way and that were the uncomfortable elements of the procedure.

Now, I still have seven more fillings to be done. One more deep clean for the other side; and then regular 3 /6 month maintenance. Then my teeth will be good. Not pretty, not the type that will dazzle and shine - but ones that are serviceable, and healthy. Clean.

At the directive of the dentist, there's now a new piece of technology in the house for me to use each and every day as I learn more about what it is, and what is required in order to ensure that I remain a complete, functioning human being.

I now have one of these, and look forward to learning how to use it... better.
