Dark Days

I look back on my dark days just a couple months ago.and shudder. I was in a terrible place with no hope or desire to function. My heart was ripped from my.chest, I was a zombie barely alive. Mac Miller's rap song faces played endlessly in my head. A line in that track really slammed me everytime I heard it. "Should have died already," he lamented. And it was true at that moment for me.
I am not totally healed. I might never be one hundred percent ever again. Maybe the dark days will never quite leave me

Seeing you say, "I look back on my dark days just a couple months ago" leads me to believe that you are starting to move beyond those dark days. Which means there must be something other than dark days ahead. And as the dark days are left behind you can reflect on the times when they were still here and remember the pain from that time. And it's okay to feel that pain. Because feeling the pain from those memories can be a tool. While remembering that pain from the past and noticing where you are now you can feel yourself move beyond those old pains. That's when you may begin to see all the new things that you hadn't discovered before.

Keep your head up, Billy!

Thanks @etblink for your insightful words and encouragement.

Do they ever leave? I guess we only have better ways of dealing with them. The feeling will pass, hang in there pal

Thanks @mistakiii

I hope that now you have more tools to deal with the dark days. In case they'll return you should remind yourself that you are strong and you have overcane them in the past and you can do it again 💪🏼

For sure. Thanks @kawoq
