Really, what is it that I have to post here on steemit to get noticed?! Nudes, pictures of cats or inspirational quotes?
I am getting sick and tired of being ignored. I am ignored on a day to day basis and I thought steemit would be a platform for me to get me out of my depressed rut that I have been in. But apparently I was wrong.
No matter what I seem to post, content along with a quick sketch I think up on the fly to relate to my posts, they always seem to go unnoticed and I am sick of wasting my time and effort sharing my thoughts and having them be ignored.
I have lost all of my desire to post anything on here, because it all just seems like a lost cause and a waste of my precious time. Encouraging you to comment and share your thoughs about what I post has not done a damn thing.
I am just really curious to know what others post on here to actually get noticed.
Psychology, philosophy and topics like that are my hobby and my passion. I can't change who I am nor would I like to. I only want to be noticed, even just a little. I am tired of being ignored by the world.

How about quotes from nude cats? :P
I like your posts! I like Psych, Sociology and Philosophy and finding hidden cats. There is a book out there called, Three Psychologies. It's a first year Psych textbook. https://www.amazon.com/Three-Psychologies-Perspectives-Skinner-Rogers/dp/053436845X I have it, good book. Have you read it? Which of these dudes is your fav? I like Rogers; he's into client directed therapy which sounds about right to me.
I think @alcibiades has it about right. That list of new steeemit posts flies past fast so I mostly just look at who I follow, and I found most of them from comments on my stuff or others I follow.
Steemit is one big hodge podge, we NEED communities! There's no way to stand out in a huge crowd but better to get attention in smaller groups of people with common interests. Luckily, Steemit Communities is about to launch, any day now. It's called the #HiveMind project (https://steemit.com/trending/hivemind) and that should change a lot on here.
So there's hope! And I'll always notice your posts. But if I miss one, just reply to a post or comment of mine somewhere on here and remind me because I do want to see what you have to say! :)

Hi there. Just browsed your blog and noticed pretty much all your posts have comments and decent sized upvotes... not exactly sure what you're worried about haha. I'd say you're doing pretty well considering your post count.
If you're asking why you haven't got 1000+ followers yet, well, I don't know what to say. I'm still pretty new here so my advice can only go so far, but I think you have to connect with other posters more, and really take an active interest in what other people are saying and doing on the platform.
You say you encourage your readers to comment on and engage with your work, but are you extending everyone else the same courtesy? At only 156 posts, seems unlikely. I'm not trying to be harsh here, I understand how frustrating it feels when you post something thought out and are met by silence. That being said, Steemit is a social community, and sociability is what people are really being rewarded for, not just the content.
I hope you stick around and keep trying! You've gained a new follower in me at any rate :)

One way to increase your chances of being noticed is to look through other people's posts, comment, see what they are doing and engage with the ones you have things in common.
I see most of your posts are on the shorter side, there's nothing bad about that, but maybe you can experiment and structure them differently.
Anyway, engage with others, it's the best way to grow on Steemit.
