I agree, except for one thing you said (if google translated accurately). If you understand the way your depression works, what your triggers are and change your way of thinking, you can overcome depression for good.
This is a long process, but if one day you manage to change the way you think (breaking the downward spiral and eventually stopping it before it gets to that point) permanently, you will free yourself from depression.
This does not mean that you won't have to do anything anymore. You need to keep what you have learned and use it in bad situations to protect yourself from depression.
