I was just feeling like updating.
A few days ago my dog started shivering hard 24/7, she was always sleeping on the bed and no matter what we tried to do, she didn't move and was seriously depressed.
She didn't eat&drink for around 30 hours, so we gave her some salami and put on it some water so she won't get dry. it took several tries until she started eating it as well.
She barely poop/pee. she didn't want to go outside, we made her go outside once a day to poop and pee..
She just didn't do anything, she had similar symptoms to humans depression+anxiety symptoms. we thought maybe she broke something or she is in pain, so we went to the veterinarian who completely checked her and said - there's nothing wrong with her. the veterinarian said that if she keeps acting the same for the next 2 days, we need to do further checking. thankfully she slowly got through it and after more than 24 hours she started being normal and full of energies again.
My whole family was so worried about her because we hate when she's sick. it might sound a bit weird to you but you won't know the feeling until you have a pet for a while.
Anyway, she's good now and here is a photo I took on our garden after the "depression" she went through.
What do you think/know? can dogs get depressed? I would love hearing from you.
I don't want to worry you, but when my dog showed similar symptoms he was eventually diagnosed with cancer, he also seemed to recover at start. But it kept happening and each time he recovered a little less. We waited about 2 months until doing some serious checking, and it was to late.
I strongly suggest to get your dog checked if you see something similar happens again. Good luck! and i hope it's just depression or maybe something he ate :D

It sounds pretty serious to me.. What kind of check ups did the vet do? Did he thoroughly felt her, head to toe? Did he do any x-ray or ultrasound? Did he give her infusion to make up for that long time she didn't eat & drink? the lack of appetite is a serious alert sign with dogs, I hope that she really is ok.

I think she was depressed. It happens... Animal have feeling and of course dogs have. If she can be happy sometimes, why wont she be sad?
If nothing was changed, and you feel like it happened without ant reason, and it happens a few times again - it may be a neurological problem.
