That the Russia that has been talking about overthrowing the government in Kyiv and taking over the entire country will just suddenly respect international norms? The same country that violated countless previous agreements with Ukraine? All the Ukrainians in occupied territories are just supposed to accept torture and rape, and their children being taken away to reeducation camps?

The two main Republican candidates for the presidency are completely incoherent on Ukraine and it should completely invalidate their ambitions for political office. Ukraine has been in a war with Russia for nearly a decade. A war Russia started unprovoked. A war Russia can end by withdrawing from the occupied territories.
Ukrainians in occupied territories are being forcibly deported to Russia while Russia has been moving in Russians into their property. Ukraine gains nothing from a ceasefire here. People basically seem to be acting like 1) Russia will somehow honor it, 2) that the Ukrainians in the occupied territories are happy and not being ethnically cleansed.
