Located in Houston, USA, this multi-volume home was built and completed in 2015 by Robertson Design. It is a sculptural interpretation of concrete and wood architecture.
The architect's goal was to incorporate material clarity and sculptural presence into the entire home. It consists of a concrete volume, a wooden volume and a surrounding garden. It adopts a minimalist form of Asian inspiration. Some trees, stones and a terrace area create a peaceful outdoor environment for the home. Inside, the building continues to study textures and contrasting materials by infusing wood and concrete surfaces, alongside white-painted walls. The house is flooded with natural light thanks to large windows and sliding glass doors, especially useful for establishing a bright working environment in the office on the lower floor.
