this design was installed as an indoor pool surround in a Connecticut residence
Today while searching for a specific photo to show a designer I’m wooing, I came across a few of my border designs from the early 2000s that I’d completely forgotten about but thought worth sharing. It always tickles me to come across pieces long forgotten and to be reminded that I have actually made lots and lots of tile!
Below is the Royal Leaf Border which I've used in a few NYC apartments and below in a Lincoln City, Oregon beach house where I did quite a bit of work.
I made the classical style mosaic wave in neutrals below for a wonderful client who became a good friend. She has had several successful careers first as an opera singer, jewelry designer (when I met her) and currently as a gifted healer. Don’t know how she managed to reinvent herself each time, but she's definitely an inspiration both in her depth of knowledge and her business savvy.
Oregon Home magazine did a piece on her remodel in 2004 and the Wave border frames her nicely in the tub.
I've always liked this Horseshoe Border and have heard many sing its praises, but interestingly I have never sold it. But it has however served many times as the eye-candy that enticed clients towards something else that they did buy. I’ve always thought that if I could reach customers in horse country like Colorado, Wyoming, Texas, Nevada, or even The Hamptons) it would sell well but who knows.
Thanks for taking a look and have a beautiful weekend everyone!

Really a fan of the old greco-roman Mosaic work. It has a simple elegance to it that has truly stood the test of time.

I completely agree @realcodysimon, there's nothing quite like those old mosaics. My favorites are the Roman mosaics of North Africa....just amazing!
