Real Life Creativebot Prints the Death Star- The U.S.S. Minnowprize!

So our Star Wars fan that works the front desk has gotten quite a few prints, but we realized he was missing something from his collection!

Go ahead, hum the song.

THE DEATH STAR!

Lit up with our usual trippy lights that surround the printer!

We started looking for one that was perfect, but still under construction. That was when we came across a huge one that no one on Thingiverse had attempted to print, yet!

Probably because it is a massive undertaking. User mhjanuszewski01 on Thingiverse created this amazing model by building it with 3,000 legos and then exporting it as an STL file! It took about 35 hours total to print as one piece, but seeing the look of joy on the front desk guy's face was WELL worth the time and filament!

A look at the model loading into Cura for slicing!

All in all, the print came out extremely well. The only problem was that we neglected to inform the proud new owner that the base for it was inside of the supports and he removed it as well.

But it still looks pretty sweet without it! No doubt he has a Star Wars mug that he could rest it on!

It was hard to get a still image while he was moving around in excitement!
