It's all in the details: beaded collar and cuffs

in design •  7 years ago

Hello fellow designers! The pattern modifications that I discussed last week for my new blouse are finished and I've begun to construct the shirt. The fabric is fun and whimsical, so I decided to enhance this aesthetic by adding some beading along the edges of the collar and the cuffs. What do you think? 20180203_122242.jpg20180204_111605.jpg

Additionally, I finished the peaked plackets on the sleeve openings. 20180205_080237.jpg

I also added the pleat I mentioned at center back, just below the yoke, and tested the whole piece on the form to evaluate the length. I'm liking the slightly exaggerated length, which feels modern; but it will be easy to shorten later if I decide it is too long. Today, I'm excited to attach the front to the back and add the sleeves to body, which will give me a good idea of how the design works as a whole. I hope to post this progress tomorrow, so please check back in! 20180205_080648.jpg20180205_083807(0).jpg
