Good afternoon to all readers of the art community, to all art connoisseurs!
Are you @realmadrit Today I want to tell you about the life and masterpiece of a recognized landscape master, Albert Mark.
Bay of Naples
Way of life
The artist was born in 1875 in the small town of Bordeaux in France. His family is far from art - his father works as a railroad employee. However, Alber kept his pencil drawing on the edge of his notebook from school, far more than science.
He received his first art education at the Paris School of Fine Arts, where his teacher was the famous painter Gustave Moreau, whom the Parisians referred to as the "self-organizing mystic in central Paris."
Moreau teaches Marche to copy nature with imagination, ensuring that only imagination is able to grow an artist in a person.
The French capital at the time was an art center, a kind of melting pot of various currents and trends. For some time Mark is part of the Fauvist group - artists whose work is distinguished by their dynamism, color and sharpness are very bright.
Saint-Jean-de-Luz
He started a friendly relationship with Henri Matisse and Andre Derain and showed off his colorful works at the fair. If possible, he also works as a book illustrator.
But gradually in Albert's painting began to trace the features that were not attached to Fauvism - the colors became more muffled, and the picture was soft.
Whether this is due to the fact that the direction of losing popularity or the artist just changing his view of the look of nature, we can only guess. But Mark tries every time to paint the landscape as fair as possible. At the same time, he devotes much time to different natural states: rain, fog, winter with a shaky gray curtain in the air.

At the age of 44, painters began to roam in small towns in the historic area of Ile-de-France, which constantly changed his residence. In search of inspiration, often traveling, he managed to visit political beliefs even in the Soviet Union.
For many years of World War II, he spent time in Algeria, where he had previously visited Matisse. Participate in the Resistance movement.

After the war, Albert returned to Paris weak and sick. But my beloved city woke up to create more. He joined the French Communist Party and, along with his old friend Matisse, presided over the painting exhibition by the progressive artist "Art and Resistance".
After a difficult operation in 1947, his master died.
Creativity features
Mark always writes simple and clear to the perception of composition. In the pictures, though sometimes there are decorative elements, but they never replace the truth ... Having the best size, he introduced it very carefully.
"When I started painting, I did not know how to solve it." (Albert Marquet)
Despite the fact that most of the artist's works are landscapes, many of his works can be found in his legacy in other genres, for example, portraits and nude
Portrait of a colonial army sergeant
In these works as well, high professionalism and performance qualities can be traced, but in the main is the view of Albert who really "touches the soul" of all lovers of his work.
Against the backdrop of a large stream of modern Western European art, Marque is associated with the finest tradition of the national picture school.
