Scuttlebutt The decentralized P2P gossip protocol - Facebook/Steemit Killer?

Auf dem CCC wurde mit 'Scuttlebutt' ein wirklich dezentralisiertes P2P Protokoll für ein Social-Network vorgestellt, das so privat ist - wegen P2P - dass man gar nicht genau sagen kann, wie viele Mitglieder hier momentan aktiv sind.
Dem Projekt fehlt für Steemit-Nutzer sicherlich der Blockchain-Unterbau, aber dennoch sollte man sich Scuttlebutt einmal genauer anschauen, zumal es Open Source ist, und man das ganze sicherlich auch mit einem Kryptowährungs-Konzept verbinden kann. Mit Kryptoverschlüsselung arbeitet es jedoch bereits schon effektiv.
