Animiert, oder man könnte fast schon sagen, dazu verpflichtet, hat mich @love-your-wild mit ihrem Kommentar, auf meinen Kommentar in ihrem Post:
Gehört habe ich von Percy Sledge erst Anfang der 70ziger, obwohl er bereits 1966 mit seiner gefühlsintensiven Soulballade "When a Man Loves a Woman" einen Welterfolg feierte. Gleichzeitig war dieser Song seine erste Schallplatte die sein damaliger Musikverlag Atlantic Records von ihm herausbrachte. Er errang mit diesem Song auch die erste goldene Schallplatte für sich und seinen Verlag.
Unauslöschbar sind dieser Song und ein weiterer seiner Welterfolge "Warm and Tender Love" in meinen Erinnerungen verankert. Weitere Hits von ihm in dieser Zeit waren auch "Take Time to Know Her" und "Cover me". Begleitet haben mich diese Songs durch meine erste längere Beziehung, die ich mit einem Mädchen hatte.
