Wie wir Wissen bringen wir viel Unheil über unseren Planeten. Es werden jeden Tag Tausende Hektar Tropnewald zerstört, viele Millionen Tonnen Kohlendioxid in die Luft gepustet und ungefähr 70 Pflanzen- oder Tierarten verschwinden unwiderruflich.

Es gibt ein indianisches Sprichwort das sagte bereits vor hunderten von Jahren voraus: „Erst wenn der letzte Baum gefällt, der letzte Fluss vergiftet und der letzte Fisch gefangen ist, werdet ihr merken, dass man Geld nicht essen kann."

Wir sägen auf dem Ast, auf dem wir sitzen. Aber Warum?

Meiner Meinung nach ist ein Grund die Gier nach Geld. Überall wo die Umwelt zerstört wird sind finanzielle Interessen im Spiel. Mächtige Konzerne holzen immer tiefer im Urwald. Sie interessieren sich nur für das Holz, dass sie gewinnbringend verkaufen können. So wird profit generiert, ohne Rücksicht auf die Natur und deren Bewohner.

Egoismus ist wohl die negativste Eigenschaft der Menschen. Dazu kommt, dass uns Weitsicht fehlt. Wir verzichten nicht auf unseren Vorteil, egal wenn wir die Erde damit zerstören. Ebenfalls ist das Konsumverhalten ein negativer Bestandteil. Niemand möchte auf sein Mobiltelefon, Computer oder das Auto verzichten. Werbung verspricht uns, dass wir glücklicher oder begehrenswerter mit einem neuen paar Schuhe sind. Der ganze Konsum passiert auf den Kosten unserer Umwelt. Schonungslos werden unsere Ressourcen ausgebeutet und immer mehr Müll produziert.

Gibt es noch Hoffnung?

Gut finde ich das in den Medien vermehrt über die Umweltprobleme berichtet wird. Es gibt viele Menschen die sich im Großen und im Kleinen für unsere Umwelt einsetzen und Erfolge verzeichnen. So ein Engagement bewahrt die Lebensgrundlage für kommende Generationen.

Aus diesem Grunde habe auch ich mich Entschlossen hier auf Steemit diesen Blog zu verfassen. Es ist unheimlich wichtig sich seinem Handeln bewusst zu sein. Vieles was uns selbstverständlich erscheint bringt unsere Umwelt sehr in gefahr. Jeder einzelne kann mit kleinen Aktionen, großes Bewirken. Immer wieder erwähne ich das es mich freuen würde, den einen oder anderen zum umdenken zu bewegen.

Deshalb werde ich hiermit nicht aufhören!

As we know we bring much disaster over our planet. Every day thousands of hectares of tropical forest are destroyed, many millions of tons of carbon dioxide are blown into the air and about 70 plant or animal species disappear irrevocably.

There is an Indian proverb that predates hundreds of years ago: "Only when the last tree is felled, the last river is poisoned and the last fish is caught, you will realize that you can not eat money."

We saw on the branch we sit on, but why?

In my opinion, one reason is the greed for money. Wherever the environment is destroyed, financial interests are at stake. Powerful corporations are digging deeper and deeper into the jungle. They are only interested in the wood that they can sell for profit. This generates profit without regard to nature and its inhabitants.

Selfishness is probably the most negative attribute of humans. In addition, we lack foresight. We do not give up our advantage, no matter if we destroy the earth with it. Likewise, consumer behavior is a negative component. Nobody wants to give up their mobile phone, computer or car. Advertising promises us that we are happier or more desirable with a new pair of shoes. All consumption happens at the expense of our environment. Relentlessly our resources are exploited and more and more waste is produced.

Is there still hope?

Well, I think that is increasingly reported in the media about the environmental problems. There are many people who are committed to our environment on a large and small scale and are seeing successes. Such a commitment preserves the livelihood for future generations.

For this reason, I have also decided to write here on Steemit this blog. It is very important to be aware of your actions. Much of what we take for granted brings our environment in great danger. Every single one can do with small actions, big effect. Again and again, I mention that I would be happy, one or the other to rethink.

That's why I will not stop here!
