You don't know the term 'Yarn chicken'? Well, imagine you're knitting (or crocheting) and suddenly you realize that yarn is a finite ressource. There it is, the end of the thread. Will it be long enough?? People react differently in such a situation: some keep calm, some start to calculate, some knit faster...
I wasn't that concerned because I still had 60g of the yarn - but as you can see it starts with green. And having such a noticeable color change in the heel? I definitely didn't want that!

Noch nie was von 'Yarn chicken' gehört? Nun, wenn man mitten im Stricken (oder Häkeln) ist und plötzlich bemerkt dass das Garn bald verbraucht ist. Manche Leuten bleiben da genz ruhig, manche fangen jetzt an zu rechnen, andere stricken schneller...
Ich war nicht sehr besorgt weil ich noch 60g hatte von dem Garn - aber ich war gerade dabei die Ferse zu stricken. Da hätte ich nicht gerne einen so starken Farbwechsel zum Grün des anderen Knäuels gehabt.

But it was enough yarn - perhaps even enough for another row. But now comes the green yarn, let's hope it doesn't look too bad. I'll show you next monday!

When I'm a bit short of yarn I actually do a combination of things : I tend to knit (or crochet) faster but don't know why...
I have also knitted one row and unravelled it to see how many of those lengths of yarn I will need :D

I have not heard of yarn chicken before but I experience it pretty much all the time and it is usually when my heart starts beating fast, getting worried with how little yarn is left :D. The socks is looking great! Love the colours 😍
