Steve Irwin was one of my idols. My dad and I watched every single show of the one and only crocodile hunter. I loved his passion and energy in every performance he did with countless animals. For sure the most dangerous animals always got us, too.

Steve Irwin war einer meiner Idole. Mein Vater und ich schauten damals jede einzelne Folge des einzig wahren Crocodile Hunter. Ich liebte seine Leidenschaft und Energie bei jedem Auftritt mit unzähligen wunderschönen Tieren. Auch wenn besonders die gefährlichsten und tödlichsten unsere höchste Aufmerksamkeit hatten.

So visiting his home the Australian Zoo in Brisbane was a no-brainer.

Ein Besuch seines Heims der Australian Zoo in Brisbane war also ein lang geplanter Pflichttermin.

The moment Steve got on stage! I had to get to the zoo twice to see him live. It was really rare because he used to be very busy touring around the world.

Der Moment als Steve erscheint. Ich musste den Zoo 2x besuchen, um ihn live zu sehen, da er ständig um die Welt auf Tour war.

Later on I surprisngly met him in a shop in Brisbane. Suddently I was standing in front of him and I did not managed to say more than his name "Steve". Sadly we did not have got smartphones these days so I do not even have got a picture of this short meeting.

Später traf ich ihn in einem Geschäft in Brisbane. Plötzlich stand er vor mir und mehr als ein "Steve" kam bei mir nicht raus. Leider gab es zu der Zeit noch keine Smartphones, so dass ich nicht mal ein Foto von diesem Treffen habe.

1 year later Steve died on the 4th September of 2006.
11 Years ago.
RIP Steve

1 Jahr später starb Steve am 04.09.2006.
Vor genau 11 Jahren.
RIP Steve

          Ich fühle mit dir, auch ich habe fast alle Folgen vom Crocodile Hunter gesehen und umso schockierender war die Nachricht für mich, als es hieß, das Steve Irwin verstorben ist

                Obwohl ich nicht der größte Fan von Zoos bin, sind das beeindruckende Bilder (besonders von den Tigern).

                Die Sendungen von Steve habe ich mir auch immer angeschaut. Du hast Recht - seine Energie und Faszination für die Tiere und Nature sind einmalig.

                Ja, ich verstehe was du meinst. Wobei der Australian Zoo eine wirklich tolle Ideologie und Geschichte hat. Das war für mich auch der letzte Zoo, den ich seitdem besucht habe.

                  Already 11 years! I can't believe it! Yes, I loved his shows as well and will never forget, when he presented a little snake in a TV-show. When the snake bit him into his finger he said in thos beautiful Australian slang:"Hey, you nasty snaiiiike!"
