Now Open Source! Introducing Steemgigs - a Freelance marketplace based on Steem

Ladies and gentlemen, Steemgigs is now open source and looking for support and contribution.

Yesterday I had shared my new application based on Steem, called Steemgigs.

Motive

Steemgigs is intended to be a community of freelance workers and clients willing to get their work done on contract basis. The project is based on Steem blockchain, a new blockchain that used graphene technology and rewards it's users for creating and curating valuable content. We want to apply this technology to freelance marketplace which is a billion dollars industry worldwide.

Problem Domain

The world is becoming more and more connected and people coming up with new ideas are always looking for talented and skilled human resources to help them get their work done. The traditional way of getting things done has been hiring an individual or organization who in turns hires other resources as per the requirements. Such middlemen or companies can be freelance platforms like freelancer, divert and upwork. This way of hiring has been a successful and widely accepted process but has many flaws as well. To list some of them -

1. Cost - cost is the first and most important factor in this economy based world.Whether you are Hiring and working as a freelancer, you have to pay unstandardised price for offering a job or sending a proposal for a lead. Steemgigs on the other hand is free! Both for posting a job and sending quotes.

2. Quality - Quality of work and skills of a resource organization has always been a matter of concern in the freelance industry,with so many people with unverified skills imposing as a skilled resources and inability to find the best resources on time. SteemGigs just like Steemit, has a reputation mechanism, where anyone can see and individual or compy's previous work history, social profile and portfolio etc. Our bots will crawl the Steem user base and help you find the best resources.

3. Security - The third important factor is security of funds and the deliverables. Presently The middlemen like fiverr and truelancer wants users to store funds in their wallet for all projects, also they keep copies of project deliverable, like code,documents etc. of any project with them on their centralised servers. This is real problem in terms security. Centralised platforms are prone to Cyber attacks like Denial of service, Tempering with data or funds and what not. We at Steemgigs can provide you a 99% more secure payment and delivery system than centralised platforms, in form of escrow contracts.

Okay, Enough dreaming let's talk about the real development. The app is currently under development in local machine. Screen shots to be attached in a separate post after testing. The next step will be testing in local machine, to be done tomorrow.
