@steemwow and @pennsif.witness are excited to bring you the first public release of Press4Steem!

Intro

Press4Steem is a WordPress plugin to allow you to easily crosspost WordPress posts to the Steem blockchain.

Press4Steem needs your Posting Key to be able to post to Steem, but crucially, the key doesn't get stored in WordPress or transmitted to our server or any other 3rd party server; at no point does it leave your browser.

Installation

We expect to have the plugin in the official WordPress Plugin Directory soon, so that you can simply add it by searching the directory in your WordPress Dashboard.

In the meantime, please grab the zip from here, and install it by clicking the Upload Plugin button to show the upload form.

After installation, just make sure the plugin is Activated, and you're good to go:

Posting to Steem

On your Post Edit screen, you will see a Press4Steem button at top-right.

Click the button to bring up the posting form:

Fill in your Steem account name (without an @), Posting Key, preferred post reward structure, and Steem tags (without hashes). Note: The tag #press4steem will automatically be used as the main tag.

The key will never leave your browser, but your browser or password manager will offer to remember it for you, just as when logging into steemit.com.

Click Post, and your post will be posted to the chain:

In case of any error, an error message will be shown in red below the form.

Editing Posts

If you make edits to your WordPress posts, Press4Steem can update the Steem post to match.

Clicking the Press4Steem button on a post that's been edited since it was crossposted to Steem will show the update form:

Clicking Update Steem Post will do exactly as the label suggests :)

Our Business Model

We have created two different usage tiers; you are free to choose whichever suits you best.

With witness votes

If the Steem account you are posting with has cast witness votes for both @pennsif.witness and @steemwow, usage is completely free.

No registration is needed to use this mode; Press4Steem will detect automatically that you've cast witness votes.

Without witness votes

If the Steem account you're posting with hasn't voted for both witnesses, you are still very welcome to use Press4Steem, but the following restrictions will be automatically enabled:

• 5% post reward to both @pennsif.witness and @steemwow for a combined total of 10%
• A "Posted with Press4Steem" line will be added to the bottom of your post

From the Steemit Wallet Witness List, just click the up arrows for both @steemwow and @pennsif.witness:
