Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker will return soon, possibly for Thursday's Game 6 or possibly Saturday's Game 7 of the Western Conference first-round playoff series against the New Orleans Pelicans, sources told ESPN.
Booker has made significant progress with his right hamstring injury in recent days and has the momentum to return in the coming days, sources said.
Booker is expected to return in minutes, sources said.
The Suns called Booker "out" in the team's injury report, but that could be corrected ahead of Thursday's Game 6 to reflect Booker's potential progress.
"He is making progress but there is no change [in status]," Suns coach Monty Williams said Wednesday after a light training session in New Orleans. "Every time you bring down your best player you know that person wants to be punished. If it's an elimination situation...I'm sure it will affect them."
Booker only participated in light shooting during the session.
Booker injured his right hamstring in Game 2 on April 19 and missed three games in a row after the Suns returned to a 3-2 lead in the series going into Game 6 in New Orleans on Thursday.
