UNFORCED RHYTHMS OF GRACE, DAY 361
Pastor Gabriel Prosper
Streams of Grace Global Ministries
‘Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth
righteousness without works, [Saying], Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and
whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom God will not impute sin’ (Romans 4:6-
8).
David was an Old Testament saint and a man under the Law who saw into the
future (New Covenant). He described the blessed man as the one whose sins have been
forgiven. And he adds that the man to whom God imputes righteousness without works is
the blessed man. So we can say that the blessing is our righteousness in Christ Jesus and
not our self-efforts.
The blessed man is the one whom God declares righteous by faith. Vs. 5 of Romans 4
says that God counts our faith as righteousness, because we believe in God who justifies
the ungodly, and in so doing, we're not trying to work for our own righteousness, we rather
depend on His finished work and gift of grace as our benefit in it. Isaiah 64:6 tells us: “…all our
righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind,
have taken us away.” When we try to please God or earn His approval by our good
works He sees it as filthy rags.
God wants you to receive what He has done for you in Christ Jesus. Jesus is our
blood sacrifice, so we need to stand on that sacrifice and come before Him based on it.
It is because of Jesus that we are now accepted before the Father in the Beloved. We are so
blessed, we no longer have to pay for our sins, we don't have to work so hard to earn
God's approval, and we don't have to work for our own righteousness. We have been
made right with God through the blood of His son. He says He will never ever remember
my sins and iniquities (Hebrews 8:12). So now I come boldly not with fear or trembling,
but as the blessed one.
2 Corinthians 5:19 says, “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto
himself, NOT IMPUTING their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the
word of reconciliation.” Truly we are blessed. David saw this and said we are blessed. He
knew of the times when God visited his own iniquities but He saw a time coming; a peep
into another covenant where sins will be completely forgiven and he spoke of it. We have
been forgiven, made right before God and brought nearby His blood (Ephesians 2:13), this
is the blessing. The forgiveness of sin is the empowerment. We stand before God unashamed
and as masters before Satan. We are indeed greatly blessed because we are forgiven. Glory to
God!
YOUR SINS ARE forever forgiven, the struggle is over, and you are forever accepted
before the Father and in Christ.
Say this with me: I STAND BEFORE GOD UNASHAMED BECAUSE OF JESUS. I AM
EVERYTHING HIS WORD SAYS I AM. I WALK WITH A SPRING IN MY STEP
BECAUSE OF JESUS! THANK YOU LORD FOR YOUR SACRIFICE BECAUSE IT HAS
MADE ME CLEAN, BLAMELESS AND FORGIVEN!
