So because I wish somebody would've given me this elevator pitch on what steem was a couple months ago, I'm going to do that for you now. Had I truly got it and understood the idea behind Steemit, then maybe I would've bought myself some Steem and by now made 122 times my initial investment already!!! Yes, this is true. On April 18, 2016, the market cap of Steem was approximately $2.6 million. As of this writing on July 15, 2016, the current market cap is $318 million! That means $100 invested just a few shorts months ago would have a value of $12,200 in today's current value! We haven't even scratched the surface. You guys are the some of the first to realize how Steem will revolutionize the way we interact on social media in a structured and efficient way. if you're reading this, congrats to you because you're already on Steemit and you've beaten 99% of the population to it!
So in a nutshell here it is: You, yes you! - Simply participate on here - STEEMIT.COM, this social media platform, much like you would on other social media like facebook or twitter, by either posting your own blog, reading other's posts, commenting/replying to any of those posts, and you can then decide to like the post as you would do on facebook but on here it's known as "voting", then you can also essentially dislike by clicking the flag icon next to the post which will down vote the post. If you are accurate, meaning that the masses agree with your taste in content, you will begin to make your impact or mark in the Steemit community and hence be rewarded monetarily. It's a beautiful thing and ensures that everybody is seeking the best for the community and is rewarded for their efforts. Having good content is a huge deal and finding it isn't ever easy. Multi-billion dollar companies are utilized to try and flesh out these hidden gems, think Google... but the beauty of this concept is maybe these incentives are what our world needs to bring out the beauty that is hidden in all of us! That's enough from me. Best of luck to you Steemers!!! Go get it, the world is yours!
Been on steemit for 2 months, really didn't take it seriously until a week ago. Now I'm powered up!
