I have never been broken up with via text but I know some people who have. It sounds like a really horrible experience. So cold and detached.
So I can only imagine what it is like to be fired via text. And from all reports, that is exactly what happened to Diego Costa. Apparently, Chelsea FC head coach Antonio Conte told Costa that his services will not be needed nxt season.
As a Chelsea supporter, this makes me very sad. I have always been a big fan of Costa. I even defended his lousy performance in the 15/16 season. (I blame Jose Mourinho for that). I understand that Diego can be a handful, but you cannot deny his goal-scoring ability.
Sure, he seems a bit mental at times but most geniuses are.
And he certainly deserved a face-to-face firing. So, apparently, this is how it went down. Conte sent out a group text to his players wishing them a happy offseason and reminded them to get in some workouts so they show up for next season in shape. Costa sent back some snide text and Conte was not having it. He then sent a mean text to Costa telling him that he was not needed next season.
Costa, who is on international duty for Spain, then went out and made the whole thing public during an interview. Everything hit the fan after that.
Chelsea then put out statements telling their side of the story and now we are all trying to figure out exactly what will happen next.
Costa has repeatedly made it known that he would like to go back and play for Atletico Madrid and Chelsea have been actively looking to buy a top striker in the summer. I can see a scenario where Costa leaves and Chelsea have not locked down a top striker to replace him. This is my nightmare. And it could very well happen.
Costa was disrespectful bro, recall there was burst up between Conte and him earlier, Costa was said to have been seeing Diego Simeon since last year concerning returning back to Atletico and all this was done secretly, Conte found out and that was where the beef started. In January Conte could no longer bear it after he heard Costa was being linked to china and he had to confront him which led to burst up between them and Conte eventually benched him against Leicester, although he said it was due to injury, but with this story you should know that was just an excuse to cover up by Conte.
Now my first question is how can a player be negotiating secretly with other managers/teams without even his head coach aware of it? Such behaviors are signs of disrespect, lack of loyalty, no unity e.t.c... Now for the text aspect please I will like to know the kind of snide text in which he sent back to Conte. A coach sent a group text to all the players congratulating them and then telling them to be careful and keep their shapes intact because in a short while they will resume, then Costa returned a message telling Conte he does whatever he likes and nobody can change that, is this not a slap to Conte? is this not disrespect of the highest order? is Costa the only player who received the text? Costa has proven to be stubborn and notorious and I think its right for the board to sell him now to avoid later damages, Conte couldn't resist Costa's text and had to let him know instantly that he will not be needed anymore, its as simple as that....I am in support with Conte on this one...Respect must be given to where respect is due...

I think Costa should leave, yes he is a force on the box and all, but I think his best season so far for CFC was his first season. We can get a better and clinical striker in the market. A morata will be good fit for CFC

I will always be a fan of Costa but I understand what you are saying. I think Morata is going to United. Looks like Chelsea is going to splash out for Lukaku
