The face-lifted LC70 V8 Diesel has had numerous upgrades and the most obvious being the bonnet scoop feeding the top mounted Intercooler. It's sitting more prominent on the bonnet and gives the impression of it being bigger.
You've seen our posts about the failure of top mounted Intercoolers not really working well. Taking a minute to think about, its pretty obvious that a large Intercooler laid down flat isn't going to get the air it needs to effectively cool itself through a tiny slit in the bonnet.
So... Does the new larger Intercooler scoop work? Like the older model, it probably does... In Standard form. Again adding a bull bar, driving lights and a LED light bar to the front we're guessing it probably won't work any better.
One thing is guaranteed. The testing we have done with our fan upgrade kits fitted to the Intercooler shows effective Intercooler cooling.
