- beef * should be a staple of everyone's diet, and can be considered one of the most nutritious foods in the world. top choice is freshly cooked organic which is 90% lean or higher. in a pinch something like plain beef patties from somewhere like Wendy's can suffice. of course steaks are great but many find they are not cost efficient over the long term, especially since we aim to eat this food daily if possible
- black beans * can be found either dried, or canned. dried freshly cooked organic is the ideal, with glassed storage being second best. other types of beans may be permissible, but black beans are the crowd favorite
- lentils * can be found either dried or canned. dried freshly cooked organic is the ideal. avoid red or pink lentils. go for the more boring pale brown shade if available
- white rice * is a staple for billions of people around the world, and has been for thousands of years. the top choice is from Lotus Foods, followed by Lundberg due to diligence in restricting and monitoring accumulated arsenic levels
- oatmeal * organic is critical here due to significant glyphosate exposure in the conventional fields. many brands specifically advertise low-glyphosate. I recommend throwing money at them if possible. I often add bananas or apples, a little salt and a little brown sugar
- bananas * high in potassium low in toxins
- apples * the healthiest fruit in the world. assists with inborn detox processes. recommend peeling these
- chicken * freshly cooked organic preferred, but many options are available, including precooked rotisserie chickens (check the label for added spices which we do not want), and canned
- strawberries * strong preference for organic - frozen are much more cost effective
- white grapes * strong preference for organic
- firehook crackers * a great snack, minimal ingredients, no refrigeration needed, no utensils, and has a bit of protein unlike most carb snacks
- peeled white potatoes * a staple for generations, experiments have been done with individuals consuming nothing but potatoes, and they fare quite well. most of the toxicity in potatoes is concentrated in the skin, so best to peel or discard the skin. stick to white potatoes such as russet, and avoid yellows like yukon gold. the yellow color is indicative of beta carotene. as always prefer organic
- organic raisins * tasty snack relatively low in many toxins - organic only
- banana chips * easy to carry and store on-the-go snack full of potassium
- coconut water * full of electrolytes and low in toxins, especially so for glassed products
- sourdough crackers * basic on the go snack, sourdough crackers, available at Whole Foods. seed oil alert, these do contain sunflower oil, so are certainly not the cleanest food in the list. exercise caution
- noodles * must be organic, must not contain eggs, wheat only - as in durum wheat semolina
