Hi it's a me Mevra! Today we will talk about the Multiplexer.
Well, what will you learn in this tutorial?
• will learn basics of multiplexers
What is multiplexer?
Multiplexer , abbreviated mux, is a combinational logic circuit that has maximum of 2^n (2 to the power of n) data inputs, ‘n’ selection inputs and single output. One of these data inputs will be connected to the output based on the values of selection lines.Multiplexers are also known as “Data n selector, parallel to serial convertor, many to one circuit, universal logic circuit”.
Since there are ‘n’ selection inputs, there will be 2^n possible combinations of zeros and ones. So, each combination will select only one data input.
2-to-1 Mux :
A 2-to-1 multiplexer consists of two inputs IN1 and IN2, one select input SEL and one output OUT.

4-to-1 Mux :
A 4-to-1 multiplexer consists of four inputs IN1,IN2,IN3,IN4 ; two select input SEL1,SEL2 and one output OUT.

This is the end for this tutorial.Next time we will talk about the implementation of multiplexers.Hope that you like it.
