The social networks has become a important tool for those who want to research, or invest in cryptocurrencies. Facebook and twitter, are important sources of knowledge when people wants to learn more about cryptocurrencies, ICOS, tokens and all kinds of projects related with the blockchain.
Now, I got stumbled on a social network created exclusively to this purpose. It's Scrypto.io. Until now, this project looks like a Facebook made for the blockchain fans. It has some nice features like communities, realtime chat, and something that can be really awesome in my opinion. The possibility of sending coins to each other inside the platform. Right now I'm only able to send DigitalPrice coins inside the platform, since the platform was created by the the team behind this coin. But it seems they plan the include different coins in the platform soon.
It works this way. You can use scrypto.io to share your thoughts on different projects and cryptocurrencies. You can enter in discussions about these projects with other interested people. And, when you find some useful content about it, you can stimulate its creator sending coins to that person.
Scrypto.io also offers the feature of Communities, something that I miss a lot on Facebook sometimes. It would be really awesome to see on Facebook communities related only with some specific coin. Today we need to use Slack (that not every project has), Bitcointalk and reddit to do some research on the coin, and to try to enter in that project community. Scrypto.io offer the possibility of centering the discussions about the coin in only one platform with all the needed features of a social network.
You can check this NEO community, for example: https://scrypto.io/s/ansneo/
The community admins can use this space to put important tutorials, links and general information about the project using Wiki pages. This is really difficult to find in a Facebook group, for example. At the same time, you can become friend of others persons interested on that project, to talk with him in a private chat, without the need to share your private information with him, as would happen today on Facebook.
The platform is on its very early days. Right now, it's starting to get some attention, but it's engaging all his users nicely. We need to wait to see how far this project can go. For now, I think everybody should take a look on the project to see if its something that can be useful for talking about cryptocurrencies in general.
I'm not convinced. Just a BBS platform that easily enables tipping?
Tipping is easy enough other places, don't see how it plans on getting any critical mass.

There's a lot to be implemented yet. But I think this can be really valuable since it make way more easier for the communities around cryptocurrencis to discuss. Just an example, you can start a donation in a community to make it possible to a coin to be listed in a new exchange in a straightforward manner. This is more difficult to achieve in other platforms because you will need to use two or even 3 websites to do something like this. Putting all discussions in a single place can empower the community and empowering the coin itself, I think.
