On a beautiful island in Australia, which is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site, there have been a series of incidents of people being attacked by wild dingoes.

Sleeping on the beach, suddenly...
According to the BBC and other media, a French female tourist was attacked by a wild dingo on a beach in Gali (Fraser Island), Australia, in April and May.

The video shows one of several dingoes roaming the beach approaching the woman from behind as she lies face down on the sand.

When the woman noticed the dingo and tried to run away, the dingo bit the woman on the buttocks. People rushing to the woman's aid were also caught on video.

According to the BBC, there are about 200 wild dingoes in Gari, and recently there has been an endless number of cases of euthanasia of dingoes that attack humans.

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) has made the decision to "humanely euthanize" a dingo that attacked a French woman. The dingo had also harmed several other tourists.

A 10-year-old boy was also dragged underwater.

According to ABC News, in mid-June, a 10-year-old boy walking alone at a campground in the western part of the island was attacked by a dingo and dragged into the water. The boy was rescued by his older sister, but suffered injuries to his arms and shoulders.

Darren Blake, a local indigenous ranger, advises people to keep children within sight when visiting Gari. It makes my hair stand on end to see them alone," he said.

Despite their somewhat smaller size, Blake says, "Dingoes are predators, too. (Dingoes are predators, no different from wolves," he said, urging tourists to be wary of them.

With many tourists expected to come to the island to enjoy swimming, the QPWS is concerned about how to deal with the dangerous dingoes.

The island has strict rules prohibiting the feeding of dingoes, but the dingoes are "very adaptable and will seek out food," increasing the risk to the public.

Regional Director Steven Price said that in the worst case scenario, "we have to make the tough decision to euthanize healthy wild dingoes.

The decision to euthanize a healthy wild animal comes at a cost."
