Shula’s 347 Steakhouse: Tallahassee’s Best

Last night @morganannwood’s “cousin” had his graduation dinner at Shula’s 347 Steakhouse in Tallahassee. I say “cousin” because it really isn’t her cousin, but her godfathers son. These two families have been extremely close for nearly 30 years. Yesterday was the first time one of their kids have graduated from college.

Their son Kyle plays baseball at Florida State and they were out of town for a weekend series against Clemson while graduation was going on. So for all of the baseball players and assistants that couldn’t attend the ceremony last weekend they had a special ceremony between games yesterday.

After the late game yesterday, we all met at Shula’s for dinner. Shula’s is a favorite spot of ours and they were able to accommodate our large party. Had Kyle graduated the weekend before there would have been no way we could have gotten a reservation.

This was one of those dinners where our reservation was at 8 and we didn’t leave until after 11. There were numerous rounds of drinks before we placed our order for appetizers. When it came time to order the appetizers we ordered:

• Spinach Artichoke Dip
• BBQ Bacon Wrapped Shrimp
• Chili Lime Shrimp
• Ahi Tuna
• Calamari

As you can tell in their name, Shula’s is famous for their steaks. I think just about everyone got a steak of some sort. Some people ordered Filet, while others ordered a NY Strip or Surf and Turf. I am a big ribeye fan so that is what I ordered. Kyle decided to get the 24oz Porterhouse that was offered as a nightly special. He nearly finished the entire thing. Anyone that had any steak leftover gave it to Kyle so he could eat it for breakfast.

For dessert the table got a selection of items which were passed around and loved by everyone. The favorite dessert overall was this fried brownie that was topped with vanilla ice cream. It was incredible!!

Overall, we had an awesome dinner and it is always good catching up with Kyle and his family!
