Bodybuilding--Lesson Learned--1

in dips •  7 years ago

I have been doing dips for my chest, shoulders and triceps for a while.

And I was always having two problems.

One was that my right elbow was always feeling dinged.

You know, not really hurt, but, not really feeling perfect either.

Oh, I tried everything I knew, I warmed up--I use an exercise band for this.

I tried stretching out my chest.

But.

Nothing really seemed to be helping

Second,

I was having trouble getting a good number of reps.

All of this changed one day, when buddy of mine was watching me doing dips.

And he said, man, you leaning so far forward I am surprised you are getting any reps at all.

I must admit, that at first, I was embarrassed, after all, I have been bodybuilding for 30 years.

But.

Wanting to make gains,

I asked him to show me how he does dips.

And after watching him knock out more reps than I want to admit.

I was ready to do them his way!

That was a bit ago,

And now, my elbow does not hurt,

And my the number of dips I can do has gone up.

LESSON

Never assume that you have all the answers.
