Why discipline always beat motivation?

Nowadays we hear a lot of great people talking about the power of long-term strategies and goals, and how motivation sometimes won't be there to help you when you feel like you just want to quit what you are actually doing. Reality is, that the more disciplined you are with your own self, the most probable it is that you can obtain the outcome you desire. The long-term is essential for success, but discipline is what keeps your dreams alive. I know that as we grow up we tend to become more serious people, with no fantasies other than just having a lot of possesions and money in order to feel good with our own selves. The fact is that, the more you depend on materialistic dreams, the bigger you will realize that when you got where you wanted to, that was actually not your goal. We are raised in a society in which mostly everyone wants fame and money, but not a lot of people seem to be committed to obtain any of those outcomes. Why? I think this is the result of two main things:

  1. Due to the fact that people are not really passionate about it.
  2. Because people don't have enough discipline to keep their focus on what really matters.

Remember why you started, and never let anyone criticize you because the people that will always talk trash about you are the ones that will never try as hard as you will. Follow the advice of leaders, not everyone.
