TEACH THE CHILDREN WELL

When I first heard about this book, I got myself a copy and just cried. Cried in gratitude that I listened to every instinct in my body and not my formal medical training or that of what well intended loved ones wanted to share.

I wish I had read this before giving birth to children, I would have done so much more.

Which only got me thinking; if I was the ruler of educations aka DeVos, I would insure the implementation of Child Psychology classes to start in 7th grade (college level, not the dumbed down kind) where by the time a student is graduated, they should have had enough credits through a new form of AP program to have a BA in Psychology; a degree before you even graduate.

We need to do this folks, we need to start increasing the quality of Education in our public school, for the kids can handle it, are bored as hell, and need to be driven to seek out interests that will serve them well in the end. We are not challenging them enough, and they are seeking outside sources for the knowledge.

Why am I saying this? Because out kids, youth, children today go to web sites like Buzzfeed and Teen Vogue (Lets not even go start with Youtube) and are getting trapped in stupid QUIZ data mining analytics and think they are learning about themselves, and who they want to be. We need to get them busy in real value based education, and buckle down instead of allowing them to read bullshit because "we are busy".

Do you think they are learning valuable things, that is appropriate for their age and needs, right now for the immediate future?

Do you want them learning these things from magazine or web site, or to come and talk to you, Mom and Dad?

They are learning shallow, victim identifying, "get on the offensive and fuck em" techniques (which in turn creates even more victims ) and grappling in a world that is designed to tell the world how stupid YOU are every day, because after all, only "they" have the right answers.

We need to build up the thought process of what we know, and provide avenues of self-examination and discovery starting in middle school.

Part of the bullying bullshit is that the kids are in between adults and child hood and we as the grownups (grups) simply say “They will work it out.” No, the don't...the kids internalize, and then blame YOU, dear parent for not recognizing, stepping up and saying "No, we are not gonna do that."

These Lachey kids and the variants therein seek out answers amongst kids their own age, and it is not until they are in their 30s, 40s (and possible never) do they grow up. This doesn't have to happen if we do not give them the tools they need.

Middle schoolers will self-medicate on drugs, food, other addictions that we later rationalize as a positive like being a workaholic, over overzealousness in social justice, military, etc, etc. We need to take the middle school education and the souls that have to attend this teaching and give it a hard look as to reforms. The kids are smart, give the college level course work in middle school, start AP programs right then. Once they realize that when they turn 18, they may have more choices, because they have accomplished a degree already. This is how we get free college for kids, its already built into the public school system, we just need to push the kids towards it!

This true sense of accomplishment gives them a broader sense of awareness. This self –actualizing time in middle school can be the catalyst to create the altruism that truly motivates change, and we have to do this before it’s too late.

I am so serious here.

It’s in middle school kids try drugs, sex (if they have not been molested), look beyond the external world of their nests you and I have created as parents. They do this for the search of their identity and the sad thing is, they don’t even know they are doing it.

We are allowing this outside influence to happen because “We are busy, doing the rent dance “or what every singular or plural excuse we want to give. We can't do this anymore. No!

We lose them at that age, especially if we think it’s their fault they should just “respect” us…they can’t if we are not there, holding their hand…even when they push away, that is the time to grab them close.
Look the fuck around folks, look at the commercials, the television “formulaic” programing Will Smith’s “Parents just Don’t Understand” drum that is being beaten into them…

We need to push for middle school reform, bring back the music and dance and art programs tossed to the wayside due to austerity in budgets. tPrograms like those bring the hope and promise to those who do not have opportunities elsewhere.

No its not bleeding heart liberal bullshit, but truth...and we need to remember this.

We need to bring back huge libraries for pre-teens to get focused educational programing in anything they want to learn, for free, like course work in architecture, engineering, computers, law, politics, whatever they want to do and start helping them figure out who they are…we need to create cidadells!

We need to get on the Stick, Folks…. Because Buzzfeed and Teen Vogue Mind Melting Bullshit is doing it for you…
