Breakthrough Discover! In this method, the dense fog will run on the 70/80 cars

The most problematic of the automobile is the fog. But a new imaging system to identify the barriers has been made by a group of researchers from MIT Media Lab. The group is now working with the aim of using this technology in automated vehicles.

It is not possible for humans to see the road in a heavy maze covered in such a way. In this type of weather, the new imaging system can identify the distance and guess its distance, researchers say. Not only this, if the technology is added to self-propelled vehicles, the researchers are expecting road obstacles in bad weather to be avoided.

Time-off-flight camera used in this new imaging system. It sends small dimension lasers towards the object. This imaging system is calculated by calculating the time it takes to return light to the object.

Generally, the laser light becomes scattered in the fog, which is complex for automated vehicles. But the researcher team has created an algorithm that detects the distance of the scattered light and measures the distance. In reality, the fog that cars will see, the researchers at the MIT Media Lab's camera culture group tested the new imaging system in a heavier fog. In this case, the system showed better effectiveness than the eyesight.
